ABCNEWS.com : Venezuela Opposition Heralds Tax Revolt with March

Venezuela's opposition, stepping up an economic war against President Hugo Chavez's government, planned to kick off a national tax revolt on Tuesday by holding a protest march to two revenue collection offices in Caracas.

More than five weeks into an opposition strike that is still throttling oil output and shipments in the world's No. 5 petroleum exporter, foes of the leftist president have added a refusal to pay taxes to their grueling protest campaign.

It is worth noting that the lockouts started when Chavez announced he was collecting taxes this year.

Thousands of people marched with the coffins of two men of a fatal shooting that occurred during an opposition strike protest against President Hugo Chavez two days ago.

I almost missed this in the photo caption. I had noted the speculation that the opposition would use some possibly trumped up violence against it as the next step. See if this violence by the government angle starts to get more play.
