A three-judge federal court Monday rejected Democrats' attempts to question U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay about his role in helping the Legislature pass a Republican congressional redistricting plan this year.
J. Gerald Hebert, one of the lawyers representing the Democrats, questioned why DeLay fought a subpoena for his deposition.
"
I still don't understand why Tom DeLay is so scared to defend his gerrymander under oath," Hebert said.
