Dallas $2 mugger pardoned after 17 years
An issue in the Dallas election that became a Democratic sweep was the racist justice system. Publicity over a black man in jail for life over a $2 mugging while a white murderer was allowed to repeatedly violate his parole with drug offenses both tried by the same judge played a part in the campaign atmosphere. Today the black man is back out on parole.
