David Brock was a gay man working for the groups that were part of the "vast right-wing conspiracy" that tried for 9 years to bring down the Bill Clinton. Similar to a religious conversion, he published a confession "Blinded by the Right".
Here he talks about Ted Olson, our present Solicitor General, deciding that facts are irrelevant, just throw a lot of mud and maybe some will stick. There is also some discussion of the differences between Democrats and Republicans and several other things. One thing he confirms here and elsewhere was it wasn't a "vast" conspiracy, but it was well-financed, well-connected, very fanatical, and persistent.
