Wow, Albanian attitudes towards elections are a subject I happen to know a lot about. I was a peace corps volunteer there between 1995 and 1997 and visited there in September 2008. I heard many people express concern that an African American could never win a presidency here and that even if Obama were to win, he would probably be assassinated.
Albania is one of the most pro-US countries in the world, regardless of who is our leader. They named one of their streets in the capitol George W. Bush Road , and if we were to elect a turnip for president, I'm sure Albania would back him 100%. Once they find out more about Obama, I'm sure they will be 100% behind him.
On another note, it always amuses me greatly when people randomly pick Albania as a random farflung country in their discussions. You'd be surprised how often that happens.
BTW, thanks for the Parade magazine tax information. That crystallized a lot of issues.
