In a disaster of these proportions, there's always the tendency to look for someone to blame. This time we're all to blame, for allowing our collective system of protection, our government, to be hijacked by corporate interests and their politician lackeys. Katrina will take the lives of many.
Some of those deaths "big government" could have saved.

Just wanted to let you know that I've linked to several of your posts today.
I can't believe that it's now Friday, and there are still people without food and water. Still people stranded on rooftops, and in the Superdome.
The Bush administration has gone beyond gross negligence right on into Crime of the Century.
The Red Cross has been incompetent. The city of Houston has been incompetent.
And now I'm hearing people in Houston saying "We don't want those people from the projects HERE!"
Black leaders are saying this has become a race issue, and I'm inclined to agree.
It's starting to feel like we're on the verge of nationwide anarchy. Not sure if that's a bad thing or a good thing at this point. But if it does happen, then Dubya should be happy, he can go down in the history books as the person who destroyed America. That should stroke his ego!
I've avoided getting into the race and class issues although a number of the typical radio right have been saying they should have moved in and started wasteing the looters from the beginning.
Conservative friend was even saying this was as well planned as the Iraq occupation.
