Does Alito need filibustering?

I have to reserve judgment on that question mainly as a result of articles like this: Nominee Has Some Unexpected Supporters - Los Angeles Times.

If liberal clerks for him respect him he may deserve a no vote because of the importance of the Supreme Court, his swing position, and his overall very conservative philosophy but it is too early to tell he is enough outside the mainstream to filibuster.

I don't think conservatives would have any problem with filibustering a highly qualified and respected judge whose philosophy they disagreed with.

This is a reserve judgement to filibuster but so far a NO vote.
