Bush Pushes Plan to Curb Appeals in Medicare Cases
Another NYTimes story, one I have heard several first hand stories about. Bush want changes would make it more difficult for beneficiaries to appeal the denial of benefits
Untold, the great majority of Medicare benefits are denied no matter how obvious the case is on the first go round. Judges seem to be appointed based on how much money they can save the government. It is only through appeals that the majority of Medicare recipients get benefits.
