Asheville also had a surprisingly sparse Suport Our Soldiers Rally side-by-side with a Bring Them Home Rally. While the pro-war rally was heavily promoted and included music it only attracted around 1500 people while the less organized anti-war protest rally had 500-1000. A heavily promoted pro-war rally in Washington fizzled even more badly, despite flying speakers in it had less than 300 attendees. Note how the Moonie Times trys to build it up. A counter demonstration with no organization was just as large.
