War Imminent; No UN Vote; Bush To Address Nation
"We will not pursue a vote on the draft UK-US-Spanish resolution," the British ambassador to the United Nations, Sir Jeremy Greenstock, announced at 10 o'clock on Monday morning.
Around the same time Greenstock spoke at the United Nations, the White House announced that President Bush will address the nation Monday at 8 p.m. EST. A White House spokesman said the president will issue a final ultimatum to Saddam - that to avoid war, he must leave the country. (It's not expected to happen.)
