Graham Becoming Viable Candidate
Over and over, Graham said the Bush administration should never have gone to war with Iraq. He argued that the real threat to the United States is terrorism, not Saddam Hussein. He warned that pulling troops and intelligence agents from Afghanistan and Pakistan was allowing Al-Qaeda to rebuild.
Graham also was accusing the Bush administration of covering up Graham's report on terrorism by classifying information that would embarrass the administration and, more importantly, help Americans prepare for future attacks — an accusation that had the weight of Graham's former position as chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and as co-author of the report on America's response to terrorism before and after the Sept. 11 attacks.
"We are less secure, not more secure," Graham said. "The terrorists have regenerated and the president is now attempting to cover up the facts."
Could this be the catalyst to launch Graham out of the bottom of the pack of presidential candidates and slide his campaign into the jet stream?
