Scott Ritter had To Repeatedly Correct Wolf Blitzer

Interview on July 11, aired at 17:00 ET

RITTER Excerpts:

No, it's not an honest mistake...

Well, actually, Wolf, you're wrong on that one...

Well, the State of the Union address is when the president made his case to the American people, and he perpetrated the fraud to the American people at that time. But this fraud was perpetrated to Congress back in September using the same information...

Well, you know, now, you're getting into speculation...

BLITZER: Wait a minute, wait a minute...

Back to RITTER: You're right on one point...

Nobody is trying to make the case that what Obeidi had is representative of anything that represents a viable nuclear weapons program worthy of war...

First of all, it's not equipment. It's components...

Actually, again, Wolf, you're wrong...

Again, it's not evidence of anything, Wolf. British experts who are very familiar with the Marconi hydrogen generation equipment sold to Iraq in the 1980s have reviewed these laboratories and says it is an exact replication of that. There's only one thing those labs could do, that is to produce hydrogen for weather balloons. Biological experts, who know about manufacturing biological agents say, you can not produce biological agent there.

So the president again has misled the American public and indeed the world...

BLITZER: Scott Ritter has got a new book coming out, I believe, next week "Frontier Justice: WMD and the Bushwhacking of America". We'll talk when the book comes out again. Thanks, Scott, very much...

Blitzer is a professional, he can be called for being wrong seven or eight times and invite the guest back. Now if we only had someone in the media who wasn't wrong on most questions.
