Court orders Texas election officials to prepare for two Congress scenarios

Election Officials will have to draw voting lines for the new congressional boundaries and maintain the existing lines.

The same three-judge panel drew the map after lawmakers in 2001 failed to come up with new congressional boundaries based on the 2000 census.

EL - No clue on how they will rule. It was their map DeLay overturned but two of the judges are GOP. There are serious voting rights issues with the new sharply partisan plan. Dewhurst has announced if they reject it he will not bring redistricting up again this decade.
