COMEDY CENTRAL: TV Shows: The Daily Show with Jon Stewart: Politics

Yesterday, the Republican Party strengthened their control of the House and narrowly seized control of the US Senate, making this the first time since the early 1950s that one party now controls the entire legislative branch, as well as the executive branch, and will likely use those two to stack the judiciary in its favor. Vindicating, once again, America's time-honored political system of checks and checks.

When things were up in the air earlier in the returns, Senate Majority leader Tom Daschle was still optimistic, stating, "We had a set back in North Carolina, as you've seen. And, we thought we might win New Hampshire. But, all of our incumbents are doing very well and we've got a lot of races out there yet to go. So, the night's early." The next morning, Daschle sat quietly on his sun porch, eating those words with bacon, home-fries and a pitcher of breakfast kamikazes
