Furor Continues Over Texas Runaway D's
El Paso Times -- Allegations of law-enforcement misconduct, destruction of documents and cover-ups have given additional life to the story of Texas' runaway Democrats.
Republicans say the furor is a political attack.
"I am asking the questions: What did they do, when did they do it? We want to know who it was. ... Everybody says they didn't do it. Somebody did it. Who did it?" Texas Democratic Party Chairwoman Molly Beth Malcolm asked Thursday.
The "Patriot Act" and the newly created Homeland Security Department were established to counter terrorism, Malcolm said.
"It was never supposed to be used for political purposes, and that's exactly what has happened now," she said.
