Do You Support Candidates By Issues?
Then take the Democratic Primary Issue Quiz and be surprised. On 14 issues choose the platform you like best. All the candidates are pretty close on the issues so you will likely find your vote scattered. I matched Gephardt and Clark on 3 and Braun, Edwards, Kerry and Lieberman on 2. I didn't match Sharpton, Kucinich and Dean on any! This is not to say if I take it again the results would be the same - for many subjects the platforms have more nuances than clear differences. Even when a candidate does take a clear different position I temper my support based on how I think that stand would play out in Congress and the real world.
In any event, people don't choose candidates really on the issues. They do it on a gut level, are his positions close enough, what direction will he move the country, will he be a good President, and can he get things done?
