You Don't Get Points for Trying

The Democratic leadership and the public interest groups did not prepare well for the filibuster battle. Right now victory will be preventing Alito from being confirmed before the Tuesday night State of the Union. That is beginning to appear likely.

Some relevant lefty blog comments.

MyDD :: You Don't Get Points for Trying.

America Blog is mad at and disappointed in the DC Democrats and the multi-million dollar non-profits who should have been leading this fight.

The aggressive progressives at Democrat.com have been leading this fight and have the contact numbers.

Digby - Democrats felt the pressure from the people to do the right thing regardless of the tittering congnoscenti.

Raw Story: Liberal bloggers push hard for filibuster.
"The intensity of the internet response on this has been beyond belief," georgia10 told RAW STORY in an email. "Constituents have raised so much support for the filibuster--Senators' mailboxes are full, inboxes are overflowing, fax machines are running out of paper, and phone lines are ringing off the hook. Considering each internet activist represents not only their own concerns, but the concerns of millions of Americans, the support for a filibuster is astounding."

Current Daily Kos numbers to call. Shut down the switchboards on Monday.

oh, yes, the above was copied and then pasted by an actual human being, who visited this "Easter Lemming Liberal News" blog.

oh, one more thing, keep an eye on Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District ... I'm trying to base my campaign on the three planks I nailed together in my platform ... "impeach bush" is the first plank ... the second is "impeach bush" ... and the third is like the second, "impeach bush".
