Immigration news - where to begin?

Media Matters - O'Reilly can't read - falsely attacked Krugman over immigration column

The unknown candidate has a full copy of the useful Krugman column.

The Drum Major Institute has some useful information on immigration - Principles for an Immigration Policy to Strengthen and Expand the American Middle Class. There is also Toward A Comprehensive Immigration Policy.

Some other useful information on the anti-immigration groups that have often seized control of the debate is here at the rightweb and here at the America's program.
In most cases, the leaders of the national restrictionist groups are reactionary nationalists who fundamentally believe that immigrants are undermining the U.S. economy and society, while also posing an increasing threat to U.S. national security.
In many cases, it is surprising to see Christian conservatives quote approvingly from groups that advocate abortion in third world countries and strongly endorse China's one-child policy. Some might wonder what other motivation (racism?) is trumping their version of Christian values. Is it ignorance of those stands? Do they have a scale that ranks racism, fear, patriarchy, paternalism, right-to-life, and sex control?

That last is probably too snarky a comment. I need lunch and to go out and do some things.

Added, more debate on my snarky question in terms of abortion is here at Alas (a blog). Link from NMAWIID.
