Kuff's World: Poll watching: SurveyUSA on Texas Governor's race
As I hoped for, Charles Kuffner is the new Houston Chronicle Democratic political blogger. Headline is to his blog on the most recent poll about the Texas governor's race.
Not looking good at all for Bell.
15% Bell (D)
16% Friedman (I)
25% Strayhorn (I)
39% Perry (R)
His analysis of the polls and the race is spot on as well - meaning it agrees with mine. Due to straight ticket voting and partisan activism Bell's actual floor is 20-25% and he has a shot at a win. This lack of name recognition and poor marketing is a big problem however.
BTW, I have no problem with SurveyUSA automated phone surveys but their likely voters methodology needs work.
