Poll Finds Bush Rating at New Low

WP:
Bush's job approval rating has remained below 50 percent for nearly a year. Perhaps more ominous for the president, 47 percent in the latest poll say they 'strongly' disapprove of Bush's handling of the presidency -- more than double the 20 percent who strongly approve. It marked the second straight month that the proportion of Americans intensely critical of the president was larger than his overall job approval rating. In comparison, the percentage who strongly disapproved of President Bill Clinton on that measure never exceeded 33 percent in Post-ABC News polls.
You would think there might be some Democratic leader tapping into that anger and strong disapproval of the President. You would have to look pretty hard. Sen. Feingold had the leaders backing away from a censure motion, which is just a scolding. 47% - the GOP started impeachment proceedings against Clinton knowing it would fail but to please their voters with only 33% strong disapproval. Maybe over the summer the Democrats in DC will focus group this and decide they can speak out. If Chris Matthews can get over his shock and finally realize most Americans don't like this guy maybe some Democratic leaders besides Dean will too.
