News on Politics and Religion with Rants, Ideas, Links and Items for Liberals, Libertarians, Moderates, Progressives, Democrats and Anti-Authoritarians.
There are two liberal locally-produced radio call-in talk shows in Houston:
"The Other Side," hosted by Glenn Urbach at 9:00-10:30 PM Thursdays on KPFT 90.1 FM
"The Radio Rebel," hosted by John Truitt at 9:00-10:00 AM Sundays on KIKK 650 AM
Neither screens calls and all opinions are welcome, so you're in no danger of being left out, cut off or shouted down. It sure beats blowing your radio away with a shotgun.
KTRH AM 740 at 9:00 - 11:00 pm carries Ed Schultz if it is not pre-empted by a game. If you are just switching across the dial you may not realize you have stumbled upon liberal talk radio because he sounds like Rush Limbaugh until you hear his opinions.
I should expand upon that a little. Ed Schultz is not locally produced but is nationally syndicated liberal talk radio from Fargo, North Dakota.
His local schedule is 9-11 weekdays, 7-10 Saturday and 8-10 Sunday on 740 KTRH.
I am a listener to "The Other Side" on KPFT and advertised the show here frequently before but only called in once. KPFT has many other liberal talk and news shows like "Democracy Now," "Free Speech Radio News," "Voices at Work," "The Progressive Forum" and others.
