Joe Trippi has long been involved in presidential politics having previously worked on the campaigns of Edward M. Kennedy, Walter Mondale, Gary Hart and Richard Gephardt. However, for the past ten years, Trippi says he stayed out of presidential politics because there weren’t any candidates out there he believed in. In 1992, Trippi, along with partners Steve McMahon and Mark Squire, founded the political consulting firm Trippi, McMahon & Squire where he served as a media consultant on gubernatorial and congressional races across the country. Inspired by the message of Howard Dean, Trippi took a leave of absence from his media consulting firm in 2003 and moved to Vermont to enter presidential politics yet again, this time to manage Howard Dean’s presidential campaign.
