Dean For America

I have firmly committed for Dean after the Meetup meeting yesterday. They had by my estimate 120 people there. Much more organized and excited than the Democratic Party in Harris County.

I am now in the midst of setting up a table at the Pasadena Fairgrounds and Convention Center on Fairmont Parkway for July 4th -- 2:00 - 9:00 PM. This is a free event with entertainment and fireworks.

Other news, a new redistricting map. -- the newest map from yesterday can be found through http://gis1.tlc.state.tx.us/: Choose "All Other Redistricting Plans" at the center of the screen and the "Web Page Dialogue" Box appears. There is a side drop down menu on the left that includes "Congressional" options, not the only way, but a quicker way to gel there. And even quicker is the right drop down menu that gets you the option "Considered by House Red Committee" (Thats 'Red' for 'Redistricting'). Select "01249-- Rep. King, Proposed Committee Substitute, H.B. 3," and it will yield an interactive State map that with repeated pointed selections on the map will take you all the way down to the precinct level.
