An email to me reports latest Redistricting Map worst yet

From Grassroots Network -- The new map was released to the Senate Jurisprudence Committee, and surprise, many observers believe that it is the worst yet. This map is called "Plan 01313C" and it has districts running practically from one side of the state to another. For instance, Travis County (home of the State Capital) has three districts connecting it essentially from the Gulf Coast to Waco to Rio Grande City on the Mexican border, we kid you not. See the new map to find out where you are, or may be, or who knows!?

Check out the new map on-line....

The Texas Legislative Council (TLC) assists the Legislature in support services, including publishing various Re-redistricting Maps that have come up from time to time. Their website is http://www.tlc.state.tx.us/, and the newest maps from today can be found through http://gis1.tlc.state.tx.us/: Choose "All Other Redistricting Plans" at the center of the screen. Select "1313" to see the new map. Sen. Wentworth also has a new map listed (1314).

If you want to compare with the current boundaries, Select "1151" and it will yield an interactive State map. Each map can go down to the precinct/street level with repeated selections.
