My vote for Graham was a mistake I decided
At the last minute I voted for Graham for being an electable right Democrat from the South and Florida in the MoveOn primary. Key areas to force Bush to contest.
The importance of electability or being a moderate. Any Democrat will be blasted for being too liberal but I think a fairly conservative Democrat is close to the center of the country's opinion right now and that was the key in some presidential models I played with years ago. This was actually a simulation for an Apple 2 which had the states won by the candidates in the 76?-80? election on the box cover before the election. A key was doing reasonably well on debates, targetting key states, and the biggest overall - being in the middle on the left-right spectrum. But we found out in the Bush election that your true positions are can be hidden by a lousy media and an excellent soundbite campaign. (Compassionate conservative my ass, we here in Texas knew he was a financial fool cozying up to corporate and religious interests with a combination of frat-boy glad-handling and good ol' fake cowboy straw for brains.)
However, I decided Graham like Kucinach he has some positions I consider unacceptable. He says he didn't vote for the Presidential war powers because he wanted to attack Syria too??? Kucinach voted to impeach Clinton as well as having many other questionable votes. I am open to being convinced by Kucinach, although I knew about him when he was mayor and he seemed very foolish, perhaps Kucinach has had a conversion. He certainly is passionate enough. I might have to hold my nose to vote for Graham.
