May 1st "Brownout"
A day without an immigrant.
Plans are being made for a nationwide boycott and work stopage on Monday, May 1st by all immigrants. As a descendant of immigrants I intend to take part. All you native Americans can skip this.
This is similar to the movie "A Day Without a Mexican" which depicted what would happen to California if all the Latinos disappeared one day.

Rally around symbols of economic trade in your area (stock exchanges, anti-immigrant corporations, etc.) at May 1st to protest the anti-immigrant bill.
Somewhat related, Rice University is hosting a bipartisan forum with political leaders and scholars to discuss one of the hottest social issues of the year—immigration—on Wednesday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the Rice Memorial Center.
Titled “USA Immigration: Truths and Myths," (webcast site) the forum will seek to inform and shed light on the complicated issue of Hispanic immigration.

IF the immigrants came through the front door as mine did when they came from Ireland, I'd not have an issue. There's something wrong with new folks wanting to come to this country starting out as criminals when they sneak in through a crack in the basement walls. They hide in the weeds, falsifying documents & putting even more burden on an overloaded society. We can't even get a close to accurate count of who is here so communities might tax properly!
Most undocumenteds overstay their visas and don't sneak across the border. That doesn't really address anon's issues but it should be mentioned. On balance, they pay more in taxes than they receive in benefits, if it was not for people contributing to Social Security under fake ID's there really would be a problem with money running out.
Would anon's immigrant ancestors have waited in Ireland if it took seven years and they knew they could get into the US immediately illegally and would not be caught because the US government didn't really care enough to enforce the law against hiring illegals?
Yeah, people are right when they say mexicans are wet backs and that we come to the United States illegaly, but they are wrong when they say we are criminals.Immigrants are not criminals.Immigrants just come to the United States for a better life.People spit out so many rumors about Immigrants that are not true but if people start to open their eyes they would see that many rumors are not true and that immigrants are better people then what they would expect.One more thing if you are not a pure Native American than you are an immgrant too.Everyone in the United States is an immigrant.Except Native Americans.Second, it's true that people should try to come legally to the United States, but it's not as easy as it sounds.For them to come legally it would take a long time, and people don't have the time.Some of them need to come to the United States to work for money because their families are struggling because of economics.In conclusion, this land was made for everyone by god,but man decided to seperate people."
