George Lakoff: Twelve Rhetoric Traps for Liberals to Avoid

I have mixed feelings about Lakoff. On the one hand, Democrats need better skills at values language and frames to match the GOP's Luntz and others. On the other hand, I think the examples he gives of his framing often seem disconnected from the lives of non-Berkley College intellectuals.

His general advice is good, just don't slavishly follow it. Know, emphasize and broadcast your core values and try to hit three to five issues in a campaign repeatedly.
