How High Are You Going To Make That Pie?

Micah Sifry of Public Campaign emailed me this: In inflation-adjusted dollars, the $170 million that
Bush-Cheney '04 officials are naming as their fundraising goal for the
primaries is more money than the combined amounts of private money
(individual and PAC) raised for the presidential primaries by Ronald
Reagan in 1980 and 1984, George H.W. Bush in 1988 and 1992, and Bob
Dole
in 1996.

We know he said he wants to "make the pie higher" but not this pie,
please! Imagine how much more of the government he's going to have to
sell off to special interests to raise this much cash.
