An email from someone just back from Iraq
I was surprised at how much the situation in Iraq has worsened and how little reconstruction has occured since my last visit. We traveled extensively throughout most areas of Baghdad and went on overnight trips to Karbala and Najaf.
Everywhere we went we asked questions about the political climate, the war, and asked Iraqis what messages they would like us to carry back to you. While some Iraqis continue to support the U.S. remaining for security the overwhelming majority, even those who supported the invasion, said Americans troops are creating more problems than they solve and should leave immediately. They want their country back.
Many Iraqis are reflective regarding the situation current events. They watch the evening news and express concern for the victims of Hurricane Katrina and Rita....
