Mad at Madla - Replacing Madla would give Texas Democrats a voice

Texas Observer: 11 United Democrats can stop bad bills, Madla votes like a Republican

Texas Democrats could have stopped the gay marriage referendum in the state Senate but Madla folded.
"When I get to the state Capitol, I lock the Democratic Party in the trunk," he said. The senator then turned to Republican Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, the evening's "special guest," and promised, in his trademark sotto voce tone, to never "change that philosophy."
The Texas Observer, which is now hosted at mollyivins.com, also has a good article on conservative Republican and talk show host Dan Patrick's run for office. One of the things he would like to do is eliminate the 2/3rds rule in the Senate.

Has anyone contacted the Boy Scout troup to see if attending the council meeting was there choice or an invitation of Manlove, who knew of the pending contraversy and may have wanted to divert criticism by saying, "Those poor kids?"
