Israel denies adding nuclear warheads to Harpoon missiles

Israel has informed the U.S. that it has not modified sea-launched "Harpoon" cruise missiles so
that they might carry nuclear warheads
. The U.S. government asked Israel to clarify the status of
its Harpoon missiles after The Los Angeles Times reported on October 12 that Israel has modified
these submarine-based weapons so that they might have nuclear payloads.

EL - Harpoon might be too unbalanced with nuclear warheads. Not a good choice. Except that "the four larger 25.5 inch diameter torpedo tubes could be used to launch a long-range nuclear-capable submarine-launched cruise missile (SLCM). According to some reports the submarines may be capable of carrying nuclear-armed Popeye turbo cruise missiles, with a goal of deterring an enemy from trying to take out its [Israel's] nuclear weapons with a surprise attack." These are nuclear capable and have a much longer range.

What is really going on? A no-so-veiled warning to Iran. Other articles discussing F-16 attacks on Iran nuclear facilities came out in the media at the same time.
