The current Mexican first family is facing charges of corruption.

US stops Spanish planes sale to Venezuela in a continuing embargo.

Venezuela now making deals with Russia, Iran and China. Hugo Chavez is vowing to end the American Empire. American business interests are being harmed by Venezuela and he disdains Bush which is why there are fairly constant anti-Chavez articles in the US media. The bad publicity on the US sponsored coup that was overturned shortly thereafter has stopped more direct actions by this administration.
