It is difficult to get real news about Venezuela in the US media that does not display bias against Chavez. Venezuela is really ruled by a bunch of left parties - 24. This article states the leading Chavez party hopes to combine with others to make a larger party. This article implies that is the beginning of one party rule like Cuba. Maybe, maybe not. More troubling is Chavez wanting to eliminate term limits for himself. A major appeal of Chavez is that he is democratically elected. To the extent he moves away from democracy he will lose left support in the United States. The right and business class in the United States, if they pay attention to Chavez, ranks him with Castro already.
