Rape And Death Threats Not Funny
Kos made another very stupid, not thinking, post on an issue he knows little about although he thought he did. The feminists are up in arms and Natasha explains it well. Kos represents the libertarian wing of the Democratic grass roots and sometimes people with that ideology can open mouth and insert foot at exactly the wrong time.

Didn't realize (because I don't read him often) that Kos was a Libertarian. But that certainly explains his response to the whole Kathy Sierra thing.
I realized about 15 years ago that every Libertarian I had ever met was a mysoginist. (Have you ever met a female Libertarian? Rumor has it that some exist, but I've certainly not met nor read about any.) The Libertarian mind set seems to be "I can do whatever I want, and you can't stop me. I can take advantage of whoever I want, I can shit on whoever I want, I can smoke my cigars in public spaces (thanks, Kinky) and too bad if you don't like it, or if it's giving you cancer. My rights take precedence over yours."
Of course, there could be an alternate reason for Kos' behavior - as I said once to a boyfriend after he discovered that a man he had been friends with for years was known to sexually harass co-workers: "A lot of otherwise really good men are complete assholes about women."
