After Gov. Arnold Schwarchenegger vetoed the California legislation Maryland appears posed to be the first state to convert to a system of popularly electing the President. I pushed to get the Texas Democratic Party to support this during our last precinct caucuses and party meetings. There is no reason America should not be ready for democracy at home instead of using the undemopcratic electoral college.
