UPI: Democrats plan summit as Congress ends
Saying there is an "urgent need for a Democratic plan to grow the economy and create jobs," Incoming Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has called all House Democrats back Dec. 9 and 10 for a summit that will examine Democratic performance in the last election -- a major loss for Democrats -- and try to meld the caucus' varied economic ideas.
"We all have an enormous responsibility to the American people to articulate and fight for issues of concern to our great country," she wrote in a letter sent to House Democrats on Thursday.
"We must begin immediately to build consensus within our Caucus and develop a strategy for success."
It's a start.
