Somehow the WP editors don't criticize their more biased right-leaning Media Notes

Howard starts off with some union bashing and then one big factual inaccuracy - the strike wasn't illegal

hello, did I miss something?

I thought it was illegal for public sector unions in NY to have strikes.

Sidenote: When a Peace Corps volunteer in southern Albania, some of my students went on hunger strike against the government to protest fraudulent elections. The government quickly declared the strike illegal because the students had not obtained the proper permit. (See my essay about the Albania protests ).

They could go on strike because they were still private sector employees. They were in private bus companies.
