FBI Wanted Obama Plotters Charged With Planning an Assassination, But A Karl Rove Appointee Said No.

Obama blasts McCain Campaign Manager for wanting a campaign ignoring the issues.
Barack Obama used McCain campaign manager, Rick Davis’s comments to the Washington Post to blast the Republican Party today. “He said it’s not going to be about the issues, it’s going to be about personalities, which probably explains why last night when they were speaking, all these speakers came up – you did not hear a single word about the economy,” Obama said.

"Not once did people mention the hardships that folks are going though, not once did they mention what are we going to do about keeping jobs here in Ohio.”
Senate Democrats May Have Had It With Lieberman, Finally. You do remember that in a lapse in judgement Obama campaigned for Lieberman, don't you?

Joe Klein grows some balls when he is kicked around enough: McCain's War on the National Media:
There is a tendency in the media to kick ourselves, cringe and withdraw, when we are criticized. But I hope my colleagues stand strong in this case: it is important for the public to know that Palin raised taxes as governor, supported the Bridge to before she opposed it, pursued pork-barrel projects as mayor, tried to ban books at the local library and thinks the war in Iraq is "a task from God." The attempts by the McCain campaign to bully us into not reporting such things are not only stupidly aggressive, but unprofessional in the extreme.
Even conservative Ron Fournier writes that the McCain camp is blaming the media and yelling sexism to distract voters.

The Nation: Notion: Palin Strikes Out -
By all accounts, Palin faced a huge task in St Paul. She had to prove she was up to the job of commander in chief.
She struck out big-time -- in a biting speech that showed the only job she was ready for is RNC Chair, another ruthless soldier in Karl Rove's army.
Max Blumenthal - Secretive Right-Wing/NeoCon/Religious Group approved of Palin Choice.

Wow - On CNN video - When you disrespect community organizers you disrespect my parent!

Will she overshadow McCain?

Calling BS on Sarah Palin
I don't know how many times this bears repeating, but Sarah Palin is an abject liar. Not only did she repeat the howling falsehood that she opposed The Bridge to Nowhere, but she also claimed that her administration brought about "the largest private-sector infrastructure project in North American history." Which it didn't.
Olbermann fact-checks Huckabee, (and radio clowns).
Mike Huckabee declared that Sarah Palin “got more votes running for Mayor of Wasilla than Joe Biden got running for President of the United States.” After his speech, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann pointed out that this was a lie, since Biden received more than 30,000 votes in the primaries, while Palin received 616 votes — to her opponent’s 413 — in her 1998 bid.
