What started the CIA on the process of learning torture


Fifty years ago the North Koreans used techniques that our new bill now allows to get 36 American airmen to confess to intentionally bombing civilian populations and attempting genocide. America was horrified and denounced the psychological and "no brutality torture methods" - except for the CIA, which was fascinated.

See also the KUBARK manual published in 1963, declassified in 1997. Warning, this is the type of document that the administration is trying to reclassify and if they do possession of this knowledge is a criminal offense for most people.
