Six Months Added to Bush Service Not Punishment

Inactive Reserve Standard

The six months extra that Bush appeared to have had added to his term of service was not punishment but was standard at the time. All officers who served their regular military service were placed in the Inactive Reserve for a minimum of six months.

I and several other people were not aware of this but someone is taking a close examination of the whole AWOL Bush issue. Short answer, he's a deserter.

Document applying Chapter 10, AFM 35-3.
