In his blog about the White House Froomkin did find a Texas quote:
Rod Dreher writes in the Dallas Morning News: "Old CW: Mr. Rove's strategy of winning elections by playing hard to the GOP base proves him a political genius. New CW: How could this knucklehead have allowed the president to alienate so many swing voters?"Dreher had another on his list of losers this election - Texas, due to Tom DeLay redistricting out all the Democrats with seniority in the House. Tom DeLay was another big loser.
