Deer Park Broadcaster - - Council decides not to pursue proposal to oursource maintenance at golf course

This was a victory, sorta. Deer Park did not outsource the jobs I wrote a letter to the editor about. It is only a partial victory because some city council members just want to outsource all the jobs at once. Only the mayor seems to have agreed with my letter that this was a quality of life issue for workers and he ignored the probable political corruption angle. There was a follow-up letter to the paper that agreed with my position that paying contractors to pay low wages the city is unwilling to pay itself is harmful in many ways. The Battleground Democrats have taken a stand against outsourcing and have both letters available.
