Religious Hate Speech - Rev. Moon

Here we go again.
"Reverend" Sun-myung Moon, AKA "Father," leader of the Unification Church, convicted felon, self proclaimed messiah, sits atop a massive fortune built on alms gathered by an army of dazed converts, many recruited from teenagers on the run and lonely, vulnerable young adults. He has bought power and influence wherever he can find it. But today the vast majority of his support flows openly to and from the Republican Party and the traditional socially conservative base. Rev. Moon:
But look at America. It is rotten, top to bottom. There is nothing to be proud of, not their way of walking or talking or thinking.
It's really a measure of the stunning chutzpah of conservative Republicans that they expect to sail along without being called out on working with a notorious '70s cult leader ... and a deeply cynical Washington media doesn't think it's worth telling the public about. People literally have no idea that Moon is jetting around with George H.W. Bush; it's the ultimate proof of how cynical the GOP is, when they're working with a group that has hurt so many families. -- John Gorenfeld
Can we go back to where the religious leaders that support various parties and candidates are not the primary political topic? I would match up the Democratic religious leaders with the nasty Republican religious leaders, who have much more influence and power, any time, any day.

Well I see you know very little about this subject. Still you wish to rant and rave as if to illustrate your ignorance on the subject. That sounds like a brain washed person belonging to the cult of the liberal left wing to me, Or perhaps the communist party?
The mans felony conviction came from trumped up tax charges and was a travesty of justice. You just called millions of people dazed converts and you never met a one of them. If you had you would know that the are some of the most lucid people to ever walk the earth. Rev Moon has done nothing to the detriment of families contrary his teachings have strengthen them and mine greatly. You chose to take one quote, and place it out of context at that. The man has written volumes of books. I suggest you do some more reading.
I suppose you prefer that influence only come from the Gay rights groups and not from such a sincere person that’s core teaching is sexual abstinence before holy marriage. I agree America has become a rotten place filled with selfish individualism but I think if we listen to our conscious we can turn that around. I think Rev. Moon is a person in a position to help America become great once again and I think people need to find out what he really has to say. Not a small peace of it but all of it. http://www.unification.net

Wow, a month later I get a comment defending Rev. Moon. From a follower, naturally.

As usual with conservatives and religious fundamentalists, the comment demonstrates limited reading comprehension skills and gratuitious insults.

My comments are the first sentence and the last paragraph. Everything else is a quote. This is indicated by the indentation. The person I am quoting, click the top link to find out who, has a quote from Rev. Moon which is a further indentation.

I had two conclusions:
1.) Can we go back to where the religious leaders that support various parties and candidates are not the primary political topic?
2.) I would match up the Democratic religious leaders with the nasty Republican religious leaders, who have much more influence and power, any time, any day.

Neither of those are addressed by someone who confused peace with piece.
