The New Republic sold, reducing publications
TNR, which published my first letter to the editor, has been sold and will no longer be a weekly. At one time a predominately Jewish liberal policy magazine it had turned mostly right a years ago. It seemed to reflect a hawkish Jewish perspective - advocating a very aggressive foreign policy while being moderately liberal on social issues. The publishers were big Bush supporters while the news media would often claim it reflected conventional Democratic positions. According to Politico they have changed direction back to the Left recently. They still are not considered part of the new liberalism of the internet and MoveOn etc. and they might be considered as reflecting establishment moderate-conservative Democratic views.
The new Politico has conservative leanings and has been called on for spreading GOP misinformation. Media Matters has been accused of being an internet pro-Clinton publication.
