Chris Matthews should be removed from covering politics at MSNBC

Media Matters has the goods on Chris Matthews. The Philadelphia Inquirer magazine reported in June 2001 that Matthews told an MSNBC colleague, "I hate her. I hate her. All that she stands for."

Comparing Matthews remarks about Rudy Guiliani and Hillary Clinton the last three months:
Matthews made 82 negative remarks about Clinton during this period. They cover a wide range of topics, but most have to do with character issues -- that Clinton is overly calculating, disingenuous, or unethical.

Matthews made 28 positive remarks about Rudy Giuliani, most concerning how much of a leader and how tough Giuliani is.

Matthews made eight negative remarks about Giuliani, most about his stance on immigration.
After vowing not to underestimate Clinton, Matthews asserted, "[T]he reason she may be a front-runner is her husband messed around"

Matthews on Clinton's debate performance: "good enough here for women who wanted to root for her anyway"

The rest of MSNBC's New Hampshire coverage was the best on TV but even other hosts kept edging away and objecting to Chris Matthews who would not shut up and kept dissing Senator Hillary Clinton.

Chris Matthews outdoes himself.

Crooks and Liars - Matthews needs to be removed from election coverage.

firedoglake - "What is wrong with Chris Matthews? With all of these media people? I mean that, in all honesty, what in the hell is wrong with them? Their personal loathing of Hillary Clinton shone through in every sniggering, overwrought report this week."

Not only is Chris Matthews hurting the run by Hillary in doing so he is hurting his profession. We the people of this country deserve a unbiased press. He with Fox will become the focal point for new laws regarding FREE SPEECH. How can GE and then NBC let their reputation get tarnished by such a vindictive sexiest raciest?
